I don't feel very good...

Audrey woke up on Wednesday feeling puny. She vomited her breakfast and had diarrhea all day and on Thursday she only got worse. She refused to eat or drink and when I was able to force her to drink she would throw it up. So Friday at 4:30 am, I took her to the ER at Baptist East for fear that she was dehydrated. Poor thing, they stuck her twice for a blood sample and the IV. They also tried to put a catheter in, which was the worst of all. The tests confirmed she was dehydrated. So the doctors thought it was best to keep her for a 24 hour stay to pump fluids in her. They feared if they sent her home and she got worse, we would have to come back and start the IV all over again.

But let me tell you giving her an IV was bittersweet. The child loves to play with cords. So naturally she loved playing with the tubing to her IV. She wouldn't leave it alone. And as you can see in the following picture, sleeping in her hospital crib was not happening. So she slept in bed with Mommy.

Needless to say after her overnight stay in the hospital, she was very happy to go home. Notice she is clapping her hands with a goober smile as Grandpappy would say.
